Help! I can’t send any emails!
If you’re unable to send, please try the following:
- Verify that “My outgoing server requires authentication” is checked

Mac Mail - Log into the web interface by going to http://mail.yourdomain.com. This will verify that your username and password are correct and that there are no major server issues.
- Make sure that you’re not having any internet problems. You will need internet access for your email to work.
- If you are still having problems, contact us or your local technical support vendor for more troubleshooting. Please have the following information handy:
- When the problem started
- What happens when you try to send
- The error code, if you have one. Outlook error codes typically start with 0×800. You can also take a screenshot of the error.
Outlook: Verify that your outgoing mail server is using authentication
- Go to Tools > Email Accounts
- Click Next, highlight your account by clicking on it once, and click Change
- Click on the More Settings button
- Select the Outgoing Server tab
- Make sure “My outgoing server requires authentication” is checked

Outlook Express: Verify that your outgoing mail server is using authentication
- Go to Tools > Accounts
- Click on the Mail
- Click on the Properties button
- Select the Outgoing Server tab
- Make sure “My outgoing server requires authentication” is checked.

Vista Mail: Verify that your outgoing mail server is using authentication
- Go to Tools > Accounts
- Click Next, highlight your account by clicking on it once, and click Change
- Select the Servers tab
- Make sure “My outgoing server requires authentication” is checked.

Mac Mail: Verify that your outgoing mail server is using authentication
- Go to Mail > Preferences
- Select your mail account (POP Account)
- Under Outgoing Server Settings, click on the Server Settings button
- Verify that the authentication type is set to Password and that your username (full email address) and password have been entered

Outlook: Change SMTP Port
- Go to Tools > Email Accounts
- Click Next, highlight your account by clicking on it once, and click Change
- Click on the More Settings button
- Select the Advanced tab
- Change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Port from 25 to 587

Outlook Express: Change SMTP Port
- Go to Tools > Accounts
- Click on the Mail tab
- Click on the Properties button
- Select the Advanced tab
- Change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Port from 25 to 587

Mac Mail: Change SMTP Port
- Go to Mail > Preferences
- Select your mail account (POP Account)
- Under Outgoing Server Settings, click on the Server Settings button
- Change the Server Port from 25 to 587
