The other day I did a search for our company on Google and found something disturbing. Google, or Google+ I should say, had our information screwed up. Actually, everything was correct, except that Google was listing the wrong website. It was a link to a website, but it wasn’t ours! We have not claimed our Google Local Listing or Google+ Listing. Is this what we need to do to correct this information and get our website listed alongside our business name?

Dear Perplexed,
I have good news! This is relatively easy and fast to correct. While I would advocate for you to claim your Google Local Listing, you can correct this issue without doing so. Simply pull up your listing like you did the other day. On the right-hand side you’ll see a grey text link that says “Edit business details”. Once you click that, Google will ask you what needs to be corrected. Follow the prompts, submit, and the information should be changed!
