If I see an intriguing video clip posted on a friend’s Facebook status or on a page of a website I’m checking out, I’m more inclined to click, watch and listen than read what’s been written. I’m a big believer in video content and the opportunities it can give you to stay top of mind in your business!
Creating and posting video content isn’t just for professionals
Have you heard of the Flip Video camera? I’m a Flip owner, and I love it! It’s not expensive, and it’s easy to use. The Flip is portable (a little bigger than a deck of cards), captures solid sound and picture, and best of all, it’s super slick with an attached USB port. You can plug it directly into your PC, and upload video to your blog/website, YouTube, or Vimeo account within a matter of minutes!
However, I will admit I have yet to take the extra time required to figure out how to edit and spice up my own videos. I appreciate the training and talent professional videographers bring to the table. Depending upon your budget, professional requirements, and the time you have to plan, create, and shoot the video, ultimately you have to make the decision to create your own video content with the Flip or outsource to a professional. Often companies do both; professional and candid videos. (If you follow our blog, last week Steve introduced you to a professional source just downstairs!)

Thanks for including our video in your post! Video is a HUGE part of our marketing. We use it to share customer stories, explain how products work, and even show product assembly. We also make videos that are not directly about our products (i.e. Life After SCI http://www.youtube.com/user/EasyStand#g/c/F891762C4FFECBE8 and HopeAbilties http://www.youtube.com/user/EasyStand#g/c/3558A7F07F60F60D ) that we use to build brand awareness and indirectly create sales. Our Life After SCI videos were created in the VHS days and we made all the clips into a digital format and they are still an awesome resource today. Hooray for YouTube!
You’re welcome Jackie! It was difficult to pick which video to feature…..you have a fantastic library of videos and such great stories how your products impact lives in a positive way.
