Wow! After interviewing just a few of our clients this week, I’m even more energized to share this message.
If you are not embracing social media tools & blogging, Today’s Word of Mouth Marketing, you are missing out on great opportunities to grow your business.
Three clients offered to share their social networking stories with you and the impact it’s had on their business. All were asked a series of questions:
- How has social media opened up business opportunities for you?
- Are there any traditional methods of marketing that you’ve found compliment your social media efforts well?
- Can you share a quick story of gaining a new client or making a sale using a social media tool and which tool was used?
- How much time to do you estimate you spend engaging in social media each day/week?
Today, the first person to share her story is Cindy Haugland, owner of Tidy Tightwads, a professional organizing and cleaning business serving central and south-central Minnesota. Cindy has been blogging regularly for a couple of years and uses both Twitter and Facebook to connect with clients. Her insight really made me think “Wow!”
Cindy’s Word of Mouth Marketing Story
Since Christmas, my Tidy Tightwads Facebook page has gone nuts. My post views are up 546%, I’m gaining dozens of new “Likes” each week, and my fan interactions are up 1,078%!
A little while back, I went into a local salon to get my hair done. I sat down next to somebody who turned to me and said, “Do you have any openings in your cleaning schedule?” I looked at her and thought, who are you? And how to you know me? In a moment I knew. She must have noticed the puzzled look on my face and said, “Oh I saw your post on Facebook. You’re a friend of so and so.” Thus, she became a new client of mine. I am so amazed at all the people that tell me they saw me on Facebook.
I have been able to post classes, comment about previously held classes, and ask questions. I am also able to answer questions. In just 2-3 hours a week I’m able to post to Facebook everyday and schedule my daily blog posts to go live. It’s fun to see the different comments that people leave when they are given a chance to respond. It’s also fun to hear how everybody is doing the same thing, like organizing their kids’ room,. Everybody has something to share. My clients and blog readers help guide the discussion topics, so comments to one post may be completely different than the previous post.
