What in the World Did Mat, Steve, and Eric Do?

WordCamp Chicago 2012On Friday, August 23, Steve, Mat and Eric  left for Chicago to attend WordCamp. This isn’t Vivid Image’s first trip to WordCamp, and it’s likely not the last. The knowledge shared and gained from this national conference is second to none, and it’s the think-tank that continues to drive web technology that will take us into the future with ease, simplicity, and security. WordCamp is a conference centered around WordPress the fastest growing, most widely used and trusted open source web/blog development platform.

What did Mat, Eric, and Steve bring back to Vivid Image from WordCamp?

“I’d say one of the sessions that stuck with me the most was WordPress Security, The Nitty Gritty. The speaker was great, as he broke down all the various technologies used by WordPress and talked about how to keep them safe from vulnerabilities that are not obvious at first glance,” says Eric who is coming back “inspired with a new and refreshing view of online security.”

Search engine optimization and e-commerce integration with WordPress are two topics that Steve found equally fascinating, as those participating in these sessions were enthusiastic about the progressive direction WordPress is taking to integrate with e-commerce processes, as well as the balanced needs of website owners for SEO and search engine requirements.

For Mat, the key take-aways from the conference include “the possibilities with WordPress are endless, security is a must, and good hosting makes all the difference.” He goes on to say that “the best news of all is that we (Vivid Image) are doing everything exactly how other experts suggest it should be done.” And of course, attending a conference in Chicago isn’t complete without a little sightseeing, a few laughs, and a couple of irresistible Chicago (hot) dogs.
