Any day now WordPress 3.1 will be released. This version does not contain any major changes, it mostly builds on WordPress 3.0, fixing bugs and adding polish.
The admin area of 3.1 has the most notable new features; include an admin bar, internal linking, and sortable columns for content lists.

WordPress Admin Bar
The new admin bar will load above your site when you are logged in to give you quick access to commonly used admin pages. You can create new posts and pages, manage comments, or change your widgets.
Expect to find little surprises in the admin bar as popular plugins begin to add functionality to this menu!

Internal Linking
In WordPress 3.1, when you insert a link into a post or page you’ll notice some new options. You are a still able to paste or type a URL to an external site, but for internal linking to another page or post on your site you have a new option.
Below the standard link fields is a search box. So if you know you have written about a certain topic before and want to link to the post you are referring to, you can search for and select the post right from the link panel.
Along with the impending update for WordPress, many themes and plugins should also be releasing updates with new improvements in the near future.

About time they make internal links easier… I will be happy to see that!
I’m very excited about the new internal links search feature too! It will help save us bloggers some time! Thanks Josh for the update.
