People driving through the main artery of Hutchinson, Minnesota this summer may have seen a giant yellow lemon right off of Highway 15. Beside the giant lemon were many eager kids selling lemonade to those willing to stop and find out what all the excitement was all about.
The kids of Vivid Image staff decided to sell lemonade and donate the proceeds to charity. When people started donating $10-$200 per glass and lemonade started selling out, the kids realized their Lemonade Stand Adventure was like no other in rural Minnesota. Even though they’ve learned valuable business, math, and social skills through this experience, the kids are likely to focus their attention on all the fun involved. From waving signs and calling out to people, the kids have had a blast. They are already talking about a “Hot Chocolate Stand” for this fall, so watch out! There may be a giant marshmallow on its way to the streets of Hutchinson, MN.
* A very special thank you to the many people who stopped by and donated to this very worthy cause. McLeod Alliance for Victims of Domestic Violence and Birchwood Hospice House have received the proceeds and extend their warmest thanks too.
