WordPress 3.0 Update Makes Life Easier

Security and feature updates

Updates for WordPress are regularly released every few months. These upgrades add new functionality, fix bugs, and most importantly, protect WordPress from any new security risks that have been discovered.

Within the next month WordPress will reach an important milestone, version 3.0, which contains a number of new and improved features.

A sneak peek at WordPress 3.0

One of the most exciting new features of version 3.0 is the new menu editor.

Previously with WordPress, managing navigation menus was a bit tedious. The navigation links were sorted alphabetically or organized by numbering the pages in the page editor.

The new menu editor is much easier to use. Any page can be added, making it easy to leave out certain pages. Post categories can also be added as menu links, and even manual links to other websites.

These links can be dynamically dragged and dropped to sort them, and nested under other pages as children pages.

Best of all, multiple menus can be created. These other menus could be used to manage footer navigation, or a menu in your sidebar.
